And, through the church’s social responsibility arm called the Rugare Community Relief, Bishop Mutendi’s ZCC also adopted children who were orphaned following the catastrophic carnage that was declared a state of national disaster by Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The Bus Accident Victims Fund was held concurrently with a memorial service for all the 39 victims who lost their lives in the bloody carnage.

According to a report that was carried by community newspaper, Chipinge Times, secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution in Manicaland, Edgar Seenza, reveled that 13 people who survived in the road accident are still receiving medical treatment at the Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital.

“I want to thank all who supported us and who are still assisting us as a church. We are very grateful for the support. As a church we will also continue to support the children who lost their parents during the accident”.
