David Mkandawire, Tendai Ndoro
Former Zimbabwe Warriors and Amazulu defender, David Mkandawire has died.
The footballer reportedly collapsed and died early this week.
News of Mkandawire’s death was announced by Tendai Ndoro, known for having come to Mkandawire’s assistance when the later was struggling mentally and economically.
In his playing days, Mkandawire played for Amazulu, the Zimbabwe national team, Maritzburg United, the University of Pretoria in South Africa; and also in India.
Around 2016, David Mkandawire had become destitute in Johannesburg, South Africa. He went through a lot of stress after his wife reportedly left him and relocated to the UK.
He lost all his money and had to start afresh after fellow Zimbabwe and South African football professionals joined hands to give him money for treatment and rehabilitation.
