Zimbabwe War Vets end Mugabe support, He must go today

Zimbabwe’s liberation war veterans released a statement withdrawing their support for President Robert Mugabe.

According to various reports, about 98% of war vets do not want Mugabe anymore while the remaining small number are just there for the sake of their businesses and jobs.

There are unconfirmed reports that senior army officials who also happened to be war vets are fed up with Mugabe leadership and they desperately want new blood in Zanu PF as they now see Mugabe’s presidency as an unnecessary danger to their careers and livelihoods.

Mugabe government is facing it’s biggest financial crises since the 2008 economic chaos that saw him loosing a presidential election to MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai.

Right now the treasury is struggling to secure July salary payments for the army and other civil servants who have promised a massive strike if they do not get their money in time.

Analysts believe Mugabe is heading into the abyss with his support base dwindling a lot faster than what was seen in 2008.

Yesterday the veterans of Zimbabwe’s independence war made a historic break with the president for the first time, calling him dictatorial, manipulative and egocentric.

There are now tangible fears in the country’s corridors of power that continued salary problems and civil unrest supported by rebel Zanu PF war vets with strong connections to the security service could fuel the quick end of Mugabe era.

A war vet by the moniker Comrade Hondo told our reporters yesterday that the biggest challenge to Mugabe is his advisers who are feeding him with false hope.

“They tell Mugabe that things are fine and people are happy,”said Hondo.

“Remember the last days of Qaddafi, people tell the leader that everything is fine when in secret and darkness they are now planning for life after him,” Hondo said.

Meanwhile there are unconfirmed reports suggesting a Zanu PF faction known as Team Lacoste is now pushing for elections in 2017, a year ahead of time.

They want the powerful Justice Minister(Zimbabwe Vice President) Emmerson Mnangagwa to take over from Mugabe as soon as possible.

Lacoste faction fears that Zanu PF is quickly disintegrating due to Mugabe succession wars to the point that it will struggle to win any election in 2018 if the succession question is not settled
