Man(57) rapes sister(11), threatens her with eviction

A 57-year-old man from Epworth appeared before Harare magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti yesterday facing three counts of raping his 11-year-old sister.

The elder man who cannot be named to protect the identity
of his sister was placed on remand and will appear again in court on December 2.

The court heard that on an unknown date in October
the accused entered in the house where the complainant was
washing some plates and stated fondling her breast.

It is alleged that he went on to remove the complainant’s
clothes and raped her once before threatening to evict her at
the house if she told anyone.

He went on to use the same modus operandi on the minor
until when she explained her ordeal to a friend.

A report was then made to the police leading to the brother’s arrest.
