A Harare truck driver will spend the next two years in jail after he was charged for blocking and disturbing the motorcade of President Robert Mugabe.
Trucker Joseph Chakanetsa found himself in the same road that Mugabe was driving through in Harare last week. He failed to leave in time causing concern to the presidential guards.
He then sped off from the area upon realising that he was in trouble with Mugabe and his security.
He was tried yesterday.
A local magistrate refused to listen to Chakanetsa’s pleas for mercy and slapped him with 2 years jail as well as banning him for life from driving public transport.
