Senegal 2 Zimbabwe 0, Warriors must win vs Tunisia, Afcon 2017

Zimbabwe Warriors lost 2 nil to Senegal in Africa Cup of Nations Group B match played at Stade de Franceville in Gabon.

The Senegalese quickly imposed themselves and did not sweat much to get two fast in the opening stages of the encounter.

Senegal scored the first goal through Saido Mane  following a brilliant move from the midfield by Saivet and Keita.

They sealed victory five minutes later when Henri Saivet’s thirty yards free-kick deceived the Zimbabwe defence line.

The West Africans then controlled the entire match and were unlucky to only end with two goals in a contest where the opposite keeper  Tatenda Mkuruva was the best player by far for Zimbabwe.

The heroic young goalkeeper had more than ten one on one action against Mane, Diouf and Sow.

Looking at the other results, this is nothing lose sleep over as we did not get a massacre and it is still in our hands.

What’s next: Zimbabwe has got to beat Tunisia next week on Monday, 23 January, 2017.

Three points and nothing less will be good in the next match, see latest log table below.
