The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company ZETDC has warned of power outages in Harare.
ZETDC has attributed the power outages to faults and maintenance works on its transmission lines.
Apparently, ZETDC Acting Chief Public Relations Prosper Mutswiri spoke on the recent case of vandalism of the high voltage powerlines counterpoise cables that stretches between Warren substation and Dema at Ingwe Farm, Budiriro 4.
Meanwhile, the suspects were detained at Marimba Police Station.
Zimbabwe is strategically located in Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) hence plays a key role in transmission of electricity to other countries. Destruction of such infrastructure will affect the nation and other countries.
