ZANU PF postpones primary elections

The ruling party, ZANU-PF has indefinitely postponed its primary elections which were billed to take place tomorrow.

ZANU PF national Political Commissar Mike Bimha announced the postponement, saying the process leading to elections will be ready by Saturday, however Politburo will make the final call when they meet on Monday.

And sources are alleging that the elections committee needs time to review CVs and remove some candidates after an overwhelming response form candidates.

In Masvingo nearly every ward and constituency has a minimum of five candidates.

Meanwhile, he warned that the party will not tolerate candidates who cause violence.

“Candidates who engage in violence will not be allowed to stand. We want to encourage our candidates to conduct their processes peacefully because the President is always calling for peaceful engagements.

“On a question about allegations of vote buying we have said those with complaint should submit them to the adhoc Committee set up to attend to those complains. Genuine complains will be looked,” he added.
