ZANU-PF held its Politburo meeting yesterday evening to discuss the way forward in the face of unrelenting pressure caused by deteriorating economy and Mugabe succession debate.
According to different reports Zanu PF leadership is worried that 2018 elections will be lost in the corridors of succession and factionalism if the party does not get organised and act as one body ahead of the crunch elections.
According to a party insider who refused to be named, ‘there are strong fears that 2008 will be repeated if President Robert Mugabe’s party remains disorganized’
Simon Khaya Moyo refused to divulge the agenda of this week’s meetings.
“ We have never discussed the agenda of the Politburo in the media,” he told reporters.
There are rumours that Mugabe will reshuffle his cabinet later and make some new appointments as he now needs dedicated and able cadres to manage the current crises ahead of 2018 elections.
We will publish the latest details including important outcomes and discussions from Politburo and Central Committee meetings from Zanu PF HQ as soon as we get them.
