‘ZANU PF’ planning to manipulate population census figures in rural areas ahead of 2023 polls- CCC

The Nelson Chamisa led Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) says it is receiving reports that some political institutions are planning to inflate population figures in rural areas.

CCC says the population census is one of the key national activities that provides a comprehensive picture of the social, economic & living conditions of people, hence its manipulation must be stopped and rejected by the citizens.

“This fundamental process needs to be done accurately, transparently and professionally without fronting political agendas but rather national and developmental agenda,” says the party.

The party says it therefore demands for an inclusive, accountable, transparent, professional and accurate census and delimitation processes.
