Norton Independent Member of Parliament, Temba Mliswa says there are some people in the governing party who want Owen Ncube re-instated as Minister of State Security.
The ministry is in charge of the dreaded Central Intelligence Organization (CIO).
“I hear there are people lobbying for Owen Mudha to come back as Minister of State Security.
“That would be the final nail in the coffin for @ZANUPF_Official
in the Midlands Province and the national elections,” says Mliswa.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa who is struggling to unite and stabilise the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF), recently fired his right hand man after December’s internal elections.
Ncube, was fired based on his having encouraged political violence during the polls in Midlands Province.
In a statement issued on 10 January by Misheck Sibanda, chief secretary to the president and cabinet, Ncube was sacked by Mnangagwa for “conduct inappropriate for a minister of government,” without disclosing the reasons.
However, reports were that Ncube was heading a terror gang, thereby distabilising peace and tranquility.
