The Grace Mugabe led Zanu-PF Women’s League leadership unanimously endorsed the ouster of senior members Eunice Sandi Moyo and Sarah Mahoka yesterday, with the national executive meeting of the organ expected to confirm the decision today.
The two had a fallout with the First Lady after they started to push for another person to take over as Vice President against the wishes of Grace.
There are rumours that 35 year old secretary for External Relations in the Women’s League, Tabeth Kanengoni-Malinga is also going to be fired.
A Zanu PF source that refused to be named revealed that Grace was furious two weeks ago after a mole told her that most of her so called allies in G40 are actually enemies who are using her for personal political ambitions.
The source also revealed that this is the main reason for recent criticism against Mahoka and Moyo who are now on their way out and people like Saviour Kasukuwere, Mandi Chimene et al
While efforts to get comment from Women’s League secretary for Information and Publicity, Thokozile Mathuthu were fruitless, it is understood that the leadership did not object to the calls by lower structures of the organ for the duo to be removed.
The two are likely to be expelled from Zanu-PF.
Last week saw a G40 faction of Women’s League members and youths from the grassroots staging demonstrations against Moyo and Mahoka in all the country’s 10 provinces over a litany of allegations, principally undermining the chairperson of the wing and First Lady, Amai Grace Mugabe.
Zanu PF is currently divided into three distinct factions that are fighting to take over the party as big wigs prepare for life after Mugabe.
