A ZANU PF councillor in Bindura was subjected to a public beating for allegedly having an affair with a colleague’s wife.
According to the Zimbabwe Peace Project (ZPP), Bindura North Ward 12 Councillor, Wendile Machisi was assaulted by a Bindura University student named Webester during a campaign rally at the Progress Shopping Centre bus terminus.
Webester accused the politician of feasting on his wife.
The incident took place on March 17, while Machisi was addressing residents ahead of the primary elections.
Although Machisi remained calm during the assault and did not retaliate, he warned his bodyguards to remain composed, fearing disqualification from the upcoming ZANU PF primary elections.
