Nigeria have progressed to the semi finals of the Rio Brazil 2016 Soccer Olympics after scoring 2-0 in the match between Nigeria Super Eagles and Denmark.
The African side dominated the match from the first whistle up to the 16 th minute when they opened the scoreline with a brilliantly taken flicker by John Obi Mikel.
Denmark tried to level the goals but found it harder to penetrate the Nigerian defence.
Amin Omar then sealed the victory with a header from Mikel corner kick in the 58th minute.
The west African side then slowed the tempo and controlled the match until the final whistle.
The only problem for the Africans is a yellow card to the team captain Mikel who is now another card away from suspension in the medal match.
Nigeria will play Germany in what promise to be a mouth watering encounter between European and African football powerhouses.
