All is not well in the mining town of Shurugwi where machete wars have now become the order of the day.
Zimbabwe small scale miners are carrying dangerous weapons ranging from knives, axes, pangas and guns to protect their mining spots as the gold rush gets bloody.

Here is a video showing the war like atmosphere locals have to put up with as machete carrying gangs fight over gold claims in the mining town of Shurugwi.
Last week, a machete a war broke out at the centre of the mining town involving two artisanal miners.
One of the fighters was severely injured.
