Zimbabweans are geared for the State of the Nation Address by President Robert Mugabe on December, 6th.

Mugabe’s office and Zimbabwe Parliament have confirmed that all  is set for the State of the Nation Address this Tuesday afternoon at the Zimbabwe Parliament House.

While his opponents have been begging him to use SONA to announce his retirement, a source close to Mugabe said the 92-year-old has no time to discuss retirement but will instead talk about general national issues focusing on the economy, bond notes and unity of purpose among Zimbabweans.

Clerk of Parliament, Mr Kennedy Chokuda told reporters that at all logistical matters are in place to ensure the smooth holding of the event.

Meanwhile, Harare motorists and road users have been warned by Mugabe’s security team that they should not use the following roads between 2pm and 4pm Zimbabwe local time;

  • Nelson Mandela at Sam Nujoma Street to Simon Muzenda Street.
  • Third Street at Jason Moyo Avenue.
  • George Silundika at Third Street.
  • Saint Mary’s Lane at Nelson Mandela Avenue.
  • Kwame Nkrumah  from Sam Nujoma to Simon Muzenda Street

All motorists and pedestrians who usually use the above mentioned roads are being advised to use alternative roads.
