Zimbabwe’s opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai will this week travel to South Africa to receive chemo therapy for his his cancer illness.

Tsvangirai who opened up about his illness early this year has been frequently travelling to South Africa for medical attention.

His spokesperson, Luke Tamborinyoka revealed that the former Prime Minister would be undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

“The president (Tsvangirai), unfortunately, will be receiving treatment at the same time, so he will not be attending.

“I am not sure though if he will assign someone to represent him,” he said.

Tsvangirai was set to attend a proposed all-parties consultative meeting to debate the current national crisis in Zimbabwe.

A number of high profile people including the first lady Grace , Simon Khaya Moyo and predident Mugabe have been on treatment abroad for various ailments.
