Trial of 2 journalists Chidi Chengeto & Blessed Mhlanga continues today at Chitungwiza Magistrates Court before Magistrate Matova.
The 2 are answering to charges of contravening Section 25(a) as read with Section 30 of Electoral Regulations SI 21 of 2005 & disorderly conduct in a polling station as defined in Section 89(2) of Electoral Act.
Prosecutors accuse Chidi & Mhlanga of taking pictures and a video footage at a polling station while voting was in progress during March 26 by-elections in Chitungwiza without approval of Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s approval.
They are represented by lawyers from the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights.
