TOO LATE: ED finally responds to Chinese invasion of Domboshava mountain

After a long silence, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has ordered a Chinese company to stop its planned quarry mining activities in Domboshava which would have resulted in the eviction of 20 000 villagers.

The order comes after the Chinese company had already ordered villagers to vacate the area to create space for the project.

Energy Mutodi, Information confirmed the development:

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has come to the rescue of Domboshava villagers, who were facing eviction by a Chinese quarry mining firm, Aihua Jianye. The President has ordered that the firm stops mining activities in the area known for its rock art and as a tourist attraction.

Sources close to the development say the problem started after Mnangagwa’s government “sold a quarry mountain” to Chinese people with intentions to relocate 20000 people who live in the area.

Plans to force them out of their lands hit a brick wall following intense social media protests. Government owned news publications never covered the scandal.
