Tobacco merchants rake in over US$ 398m to date

As at 20 July 2022, tobacco merchants had exported a total of 84 227 566kg of tobacco valued at US$ 398 595 501 as compared to 73 238 993kg exported during the same period last year.

This was revealed by the Minister of Information Publicity and Broadcasting Services Monica Mustvangwa during post cabinet briefing yesterday.

Tobacco is one of Zimbabwe’s major foreign currency earners bringing in millions every year.

Meanwhile, Mustvangwa also disclosed that Zimbabwe will host the 2022 Edition of the Sanganayi/ Hlanganani World Tourism Expo from 13 to 15 October.

The event will be attended by 250 exhibitors,165 international buyers from Europe, Americas, China, Middle East, Africa, Asia, Pacific & 23 media houses.
