Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Midlands strategist Kizito Chivamba died early in the morning today, Wednessday, at Gweru General Hospital.

A Zanu Pf party insider who preferred anonymity, confirmed to the press the death of the legislator for Chiundura Constituency.

Kizito who once served as the acting Midlands Provincial Chair sometime last year was Mnangagwa’s perceived strategist and his long-time ally.

He was also believed to have been at the forefront of Team Lacoste faction which supports that Mnangagwa should be President Robert Mugabe’s successor.

Chivamba who was in the company of the late CIO deputy Elias Kanengoni permanently disabled the late Gweru businessman and opposition politician Patrick Kombayi in 1990 after pumping half a dozen bullets into his groin.

Mourners are gathered at his farm in Sino, Gweru.
