Tatenda Taibu Returns to Cricket, Joins Liverpool and District’s Hightown St Mary’s

Latest Cricket News: Zimbabwe’s Tatenda Taibu has signed for An English second division Liverpool and District cricket team Hightown St Mary’s.

Taibu’s move means he will play cricket again since his retirement in 2012.

The former Zimbabwe international captain  scored 1546 runs in 28 Test matches for his country.

Taibu who plays as a wicket keeper-batsman is the youngest ever person to captain  Zimbabwe.

Speaking to reporters about the new signing Hightown publicity officer Nick Gordon said they were not expecting a high profile name when they advertised for an overseas player.

“When he explained who he was I thought it was a hoax,” Hightown publicity officer Nick Gordon said.

“It’s not every day that a club like Hightown St Mary’s signs a player like Tatenda,” Gordon said.
