Did you know that the world’s richest person Elon Musk- with an estimated net worth of $251 billion- is homeless?
Yes, you heard it right- Elon Musk does not have a home of his own and he has been sleeping in friends’ spare bedrooms.
“I don’t even own a place right now, I’m literally staying at friends’ places. If I travel to the Bay Area, which is where most of Tesla’s engineering is, I basically rotate through friends’ spare bedrooms,” the world’s richest man said in an interview on TED with Chris Anderson.
In his stunning revelations on the interview, Elon Musk also said that the only flashy thing that he owns is a plane as he owns neither a yacht nor does he take holidays.
“I don’t have a yacht, I don’t take vacations, so it’s not as though my personal consumption is high. One exception is a plane but if I don’t use the plane I have less hours to work,” he said.
Quite surprising that Musk, for all his multi-billion dollar businesses which include Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company, and has been in the process of trying to buy Twitter, does not parade his flamboyance like other rich personalities (Do I hear some Zimbabwean national saying Passion?).
During an interview with Vanity Fair recently, Elon Musk’s long-term on-and-off partner Grimes opened up on how the world’s richest person lives a humble life, quipping:
“Bro lives at times below the poverty line. To the point where I was like, can we not live in a very insecure $40,000 house? Where the neighbours, like, film us, and there’s no security, and I’m eating peanut butter for eight days in a row?”
