We are about to step in: Did Chiwenga just say army will stage coup

Zimbabwe Army General Sends Warning Message to Grace Mugabe’s Zanu PF G40 Faction

HARARE: The Zimbabwe Defence Forces says the military will not hesitate to step in when the country’s revolution is under threat.

Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander General Constantine Chiwenga told journalists at the Zimbabwe National Army headquarters Monday afternoon that the revolution championed by Zanu-PF was under threat from some counter revolutionaries that have infiltrated the party.

In a veiled message believed to be directed at First Lady, Grace Mugabe, Chiwenga said drastic action should be taken immediately to stop the counter revolutionaries from sliding the country back into colonisation.

“We must remind those behind the current treacherous shenanigans that when it comes to matters of protecting our revolution, the military will not hesitate to step in,” he said. state media
