Hopewell Chin'ono at the courts
Renowned investigative journalist Hopewell Chin’ono says someone has been phoning his housekeeper asking for his boss’ whereabouts.
Chin’ono says the person is promising his housekeeper some material things in exchange for information on his whereabouts.
“This number has been phoning my housekeeper offering him things in exchange for information about me,” he says.
Chin’ono believes whoever is phoning his housekeeper could be a member the state security agents claims that when he was arrested in 2020, the same number phoned his housekeeper asking for information on his whereabouts.
“When I was arrested in 2020, the same person was phoning my house keeper asking about me.
“Today he phoned asking him about my whereabouts and offering to meet up with him,” he adds.
Meanwhile, Chin’ono had been in and out of prison for a number of charges like inciting the public to revolt against the government.
However, he says he was being persecuted for allegedly exposing corruption involving high profile personalities.
Chin’ono has over years been a thorn the government’s flesh, criticising bad governance and rampant corruption.
