The protest is against the harsh economic condition prevailing in the country.
While Eva Mawarire of This Flag Zimbabwe campaign is in police custody following yesterday’s arrest, Zimbabweans civil societies decided to go ahead with a mass strike that has since been joined by big brands like DELTA Zimbabwe.

There is heavy policing on Zimbabwe’s streets seen by reporters in Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru, Kwekwe, Masvingo, Mutare and Victoria Falls today.
Meanwhile, the government has threatened to deal with teachers and school authorities who partake in today and tomorrow’s stay away strikes.
This comes after several school authorities in Harare, Gweru, Bulawayo and Masvingo advised parents that there would be no school today as teachers will be on strike against late payment of salaries.
A government office worker based in Bulawayo city told zwnews.com reporters that many civil servants are on go slow and there is no actual work going on at the moment.
“We are simply sitting in the office and waiting to go, home there is a strike today,” said an anonymous state employee.
