Glendale Road Car Accident Leaves 7 dead

Seven people were killed yesterday when a truck they were travelling in plunged into a river as the driver tried to avoid a head on collision with an oncoming tractor at a narrow bridge.

According to eye witnesses the driver of the twin cab pick up car was supposed to give way to an oncoming vehicle but did not only to drive into the river killing all passengers by drowning.

The accident happened at Tsambe Bridge near Davaar Farm along Foothills Road in Glendale yesterday morning.

Among the deceased were three children and four adults.

Meanwhile Harare police has confirmed the deaths and encouraged people to take caution when travelling in unmarked roads especially in rural areas.
