ZIMBABWE Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information Publicity and Broadcasting Services Nick Mangwana has condemned the attacks on President by Emmerson Mnangagwa by South Africa’s Julius Sello Malema.
On Wednesday Malema said President Mnangagwa was a sellout who wants to compensate white farmers for the land they lost during the land reform process.
Julius Malema said Mnangagwa will not be able to finish his term of office. Malema said that Mnangagwa was reversing the gains of the revolution by pandering to the interests of white farmers while neglecting the basic needs of the citizens such as health care.
But Nick Mangwana did not like Malema’s response:
Said Mangwana, “South African opposition parties have this Big Brother mentality that makes them behave like some super- transnational parties? They have no respect for national boundaries and attendant sovereign autonomy of neighbours. At least our own do their grandstanding on national issues.”
Mangwana further explained that the compensation was for improvements done on the land and not for the land.
President Mnangagwa’s government says the compensation of white farmers is a step towards normalizing relations with the Western countries.
