Exiled former cabinet minister Jonathan Moyo says to say Ian Smith was better means Rhodesia was better; a clear disrespect for the liberation struggle.
“Recognition of and respect for the LIBERATION STRUGGLE” is a founding value & principle of Zimbabwe in s3(1)(i) of the Constitution. Ian Smith = Rhodesia and Rhodesia = Ian Smith.
“To say Smith was better means Rhodesia was better; a clear disrespect for the LIBERATION STRUGGLE!”
He says Smith was a dependent and not an independent, variable; he was not a prime mover but a consequence of racist Rhodesia and its colonial backers in the West; hence, to say Smith was better is to say Rhodesia was better; an evil affront to the liberation struggle and Zimbabwe!
His sentiments comes after some opposition party members said President Emmerson Mnangagwa is worse than Ian Smith.
Meanwhile, ZANU PF labelled the opposition lovers of Smith for saying he was better than Mnangagwa.
