Ernestna Jack, a Salvation Army Captain based at Kachuta, in Guruve was last week arrested for allegedly raping a Grade Six pupil after forcing her to do household chores at his house on Saturday.
Sources close to investigations said Jack took the Grade Six pupil from Chemachinda Primary School, under the Salvation Army, and ordered her to perform some household chores before raping her while her friends were playing outside.
“The man of cloth is currently assisting police with investigations after he was accused of raping a 14 year old girl.
He reportedly took her into his house during his wife’s absence and ordered her to do household chores while her friends were playing outside,” revealed the source.
The case came to light after the minor told the School Development Committee (SDC) chairman who subsequently told the headmaster of the school.
The headmaster wrote a letter to Guruve District Schools Inspector, Penius Dambuza, informing him about the abuse.
When contacted for comment Dambuza could neither confirm nor deny the incident saying he was yet to get a formal report.
