SA;Jimmy Choeni ‘Zim businessman’ killed in Musina

A murder investigation is underway in Musina, South  Africa, following the death of a Zimbabwean man, Jimmy Choeni, who was shot by two unknown assailants on Monday night.

The businessman who runs a security company, was hit three times and died on the spot, while his unidentified female companion walked away unscathed.

“A manhunt is now on  after a 43-year-old owner of a security company was gunned down  by two unknown suspects,” Limpopo provincial police spokesman, Motlafela Mojapelo, said.

“According to reports on the ground, the deceased was with a woman when the suspects, who spoke Shona, approached and shot him dead. The woman was not injured.”

The incident occurred in Musina Extension 12 and Choeni’s pistol and cellphone were stolen from the scene, Mojapelo said.

There are suspicions that the late businessman might have been a target of contract killing by business rivals.
