In a very depressing incident, an 11-year old boy sustained a fractured leg following a hit-and-run accidengt which occured in Bulawayo last Friday morning, police authorities have said.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said the juvenile, who also sustained bruises on the right leg, is being hospitalised at ,Mpilo Hospital while investigations to bring the culprits to book are still underway.
“The ZRP urges motorists to be responsible and exercise extreme caution especially when driving along roads with school crossing points,” said the police in a statement.
The ZRP added:
“On 04/03/22 at about 0700 hours, ZRP Nkulumane recorded a hit and run RTA which occurred along Rangemore road near Maqhawe Clinic where an 11 year old male juvenile was hit by an unknown motorist who was driving an unidentified vehicle, while going to school. The victim sustained a fractured leg and bruises on the right leg and was referred to Mpilo Hospital for treatment. Investigations are underway.”
