Four people were killed while 18 others were seriously injured in a fatal road traffic accident involving a ZUPCO-contracted commuter omnibus in the Eastern Highlands yesterday afternoon, national police authorities have said.
In a post on their Twitter account this morning, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the development.
“The ZRP confirms a fatal RTA which occurred at the 50km peg along Mutare-Juliasdale Road on 21/03/22 at about 1635 hours. The driver of a Zupco contracted Toyota Hiace vehicle lost control of the vehicle and veered of the road resulting in the death of four people and injury of 18 others. The Police will release more details soon,” tweeted the ZRP.
