SA: Grace Mugabe loses diplomatic immunity

The South African High Court has  ruled that the decision to grant Grace Mugabe diplomatic immunity was inconsistent with the country’s constitution.

Rights group AfriForum and the DA went to court challenging the original decision by the government department.

In 2017, Grace Mugabe injured a young girl during confrontation inside a local hotel.

Gabriella Engels was cornered at a Johannesburg hotel while in the company of Grace Mugabe’s sons.

Grace managed to skip out of the country after authorities refused to press charges against her citing diplomatic status as a spouse to former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe.
