Russian deputy ambassador to the United Nations says Russia retains right to use nuclear weapons if “provoked” by North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
In an interview with Sky News on March 24, Dmitry Polyanskiy said that Putin could use nuclear weapons if the country feels it is facing an “existential” threat.
Meanwhile, NATO meeting between the leaders of all member states is meeting (today) on March 24.
NATO was created in 1949 by the United States, Canada, and several Western European nations to provide collective security against the Soviet Union.
