Albeit the fact that Zimbabwe’s education sector is literally screaming and bleeding with parents and guardians bemoaning the school levies which they say are not in sync with the rather casual approach by the country’s incapacitated teachers to conduct lessons this term, some unscrupulous thieves Wednesday besieged a mission school in Karoi before getting away with two cash boxes stuffed with hard cash amounting to ZWL$31 725.
Posting on social media, the country’s policing authorities said the three-member gang, which is still at large, unlawfully pounced on the premises of the Seventh Day Adventist-run Mutoranhanga Primary School in Karoi where they also evaded attacks from stone-pelting security details at the institution.
Said the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) in a tweet:
The ZRP is investigating cases of unlawful entry into premises and theft which occurred at Mutoranhanga Primary school on 15/03/22 at about 0100 hours, where three unknown suspects broke into the headmaster’s office and stole two cash boxes containing ZWL$31 725 cash.
On their way out, the suspects were intercepted by a security guard whom they pelted with stones and disappeared into the darkness. #notocrime
