BREAKING: RBZ bans all cash in, cash out, EcoCash cash-back facilities

THE Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe(RBZ) has, with immediate effect, ordered that all #EcoCash agents are barred from carrying out cash-in and cash-out transactions, saying the facilities were being abused to carry out illegal selling of cash at high cost to the public.

For the first time since EcoCash was launched in 2011, partly as a response to a cash crisis, users won’t be able to cash-in and cash-out after this new RBZ attempt to control agents’ premiums on cash and illegal forex trading.

Blackmarket currency trading has been on high note since the fall of Robert Mugabe in November 2017.

The RBZ has been confirmed by state owned broadcaster ZBC through their twitter hadnle.
