President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa is expected to commission Epwoth magistrates court this Friday.
The construction of the new Epworth Magistrates Court was completed recently, with all the necessary equipment now in place, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has said.
The new court is part of Government’s broader goal of bringing courts closer to the people, for the efficient administration of justice.
JSC head of corporate services, Daniel Nemukuyu, confirmed the development to The Sunday Mail Online.
“All is set for the official opening of the court; it has been a long journey, but the project is now complete,” he said.
“Initially, the court was supposed to be officially opened on February 24, but the date was moved forward.”
The Epworth Magistrates Court will handle both criminal and civil matters.
Between 2018 to date, the JSC has completed 13 judicial courts across the country.
