The Zimbabwe Republic Police have withdrawn their letter prohibiting the Citizens Coalition for Change from holding a rally in Epworth, after lawyers filed court challenge.
CCC lawyer Jeremiah Bamu said police withdrew their letter banning the rally. “The rally has now been cleared to go ahead,” he said.
Meanwhile, about 3km from Olympic Grounds where the CCC rally is scheduled to take place, ZANU PF’s Epworth candidate Zalerah Makari has invited locals to come and receive free maize-meal.
Apparently, this is being viewed by critics as a way to discourage people from attending the CCC rally and as a ploy to buy votes.
Meanwhile, the ZANU PF camp in Epworth is burning after those who lost in party primaries are rallying behind an independent.
