Polad is a product of JOC, says Jonathan Moyo

Exiled former Higher and Tertiary Education Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo has sensationally claimed that the Political Actors’ Dialogue (POLAD) was formed by the militant Joint Operations Command (JOC), while castigating smaller opposition parties of having been used to ‘enable rigging’ in the disputed July 2018 elections controversially won by the ruling party.
The Nelson Chamisa-led main opposition has defiantly turned down offers to join Polad, and the MDC Alliance leader is on record likening the members of the controversy-ridden political outfit ‘a choir of losers’.
Reacting to NCA leader, Professor Lovemore Madhuku’s earlier tweet insinuating that Polad is a ‘platform created by political parties’, Professor Moyo said:
“Polad was not created by political parties, but by the same JOC that fielded puppet political parties like (the) NCA to give a facade of ‘many presidential candidates’ in 2018 to enable rigging for (President Emmerson) Mnangagwa”.
JOC has its roots in pre-idependence Zimbabwe where it was used by the Rhodesian colonial regime to supervise its counter-insurgency campaign during the war, as well as external incursions into Mozambique and Zambia. The JOC has often been accused of manipulating elections and orchestrating violence in the troubled southern African nation.
