National police authorities this morning announced the arrest of Pius Jamba, the person who is accused of having murdered Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) activist Moreblessing Ali.
While making the announcement of Jamba’s arrest, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) tweeted:
“Breaking News- The Zimbabwe Republic Police has arrested accused Pius Jamba this morning in connection with the callous murder of Moreblessing Ali. A detailed statement will be released during the course of the day.”
The deceased Moreblessing Ali went missing on May 24 after she was allegedly abducted in Chitungwiza. After weeks of anxiety surrounding Ali’s whereabouts, her body was retrieved from a well at the family homestead of a known Chitungwiza Zanu PF leader Simbarashe Chisango in Manyame.
When her body was found, it was mutilated into two parts. The bottom from the waist was on its own and the upper body was on its own, iHarare reported.
The intestines were intact but exposed from underneath the stomach. There was a black cloth tied tightly around her neck. Bruises on the right cheek and forehead were observed. The left armpit was chopped but left hanging to the torso.
Ali’s family had resolved that they would not bury her until her alleged murder(s) were apprehended.
But, who really, is Pius Jamba, the prime suspect in Moreblessing Ali’s murder?
Here is what is known so far about Jamba
