It is a hive of activities at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) as the exhibition roars into life with the many more exhibitions expected this year.
There is a variety of products on display coming in several contexts and styles.
As Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information Nick Mangwana puts it, the desired outcomes of this year’s event are also quite different.
He says some will use it to evaluate competition, while others to develop new agents and distributors, brand recognition and sell.
He says trade fairs can be classified as organized marketing opportunities or communication, adding that this is why there is competition to have the best exhibition and messaging.
This year’s exhibition will be officially opened on Friday by President Emmerson Mnangagwa after Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta cancelled his trip to Zimbabwe.
Kenyatta cancelled the trip following the death of former President Mwai Kibaki.
