Enraged spouses to the unpaid workers at Hwange Colliery Company Limited took to the streets of Harare marching in protest against Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Petronella Kagonye’s remarks that their demo was political.
They also threatened to shut down the company if Government does not address their plight by June 6.
Some of the women said her remarks were uncalled for considering the company partly owned by Government spent five years without paying their husbands.
“What Kagonye said makes me want to cry in ardency. This demo is apolitical. We want our husbands to be paid their dues,” said one woman.
Another peeved woman cursed the Labour minister.
“Kangonye you should know that you are also a woman. You are a Liar. May God curse you for what you said,” said another woman said.
