PICS: Massive turnout at Zimbabwe People First Rally, Clashes with Zanu PF youths

There was a massive public turnout for the newly formed Zimbabwe People First political outfit led by former Zanu PF heavy weights in Harare yesterday.

Joice Mujuru is the leader of the party that has attracted thousands of supporters across the country just after its launch.

As pictures below show Mujuru and her supporters were attacked as they gathered at Harare’s political hotbed of Glen View. Both sides exchanged fireworks while riot police tried  to neutralise the tension.

A number of people were arrested while some cars had their windows smashed by political hooligans.

Zimbabwe People First spokesperson Rugare Gumbo has condemned the violence as unacceptable. He blames Zanu PF  for disturbing a peaceful political gathering.
