Opposition should focus on nation building not political power, Mahiya

War veterans boss, Douglas Mahiya says opposition parties in Zimbabwe should be obsessed with nation building not political power because this was attained way back when colonisers where defeated.

Speaking during a press conference announcing the launch of the War Veterans League, yesterday, Mahiya said Zimbabwe has political power from the liberation struggle.

“Opposition political parties should contribute to building the economy not to focus on power which we already achieved,” he says.

He accused opposition parties of being used by the British to reverse the gains of independence and urged members to be vigilant so that the country don’t go back to that time again.

The league which is a ZANU-PF arm is set to be officially instituted by President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa today.
