NOT AGAIN..Another Zanu PF car wrecked, 3 accidents in 4 days..Do they need to hire or rent cars in Harare Zimbabwe

Hiring or owning a car in Harare and Zimbabwe

When it comes to the question of renting or owning a car many are of the opinion that it is best to just own.

However there are hundreds of people who need to use and travel by car or some vehicle from time to time without actually owning the car.  Think for example if a person has to travel  or visit Zimbabwe for a short period of time, or if they do not have the right driving license to operate a vehicle in Zimbabwe’s roads.

These people might hire or may have to use a car over a very short period of time.

Harare Car Hire website says a number of its clients are visitors and travellers who spend most of the time outside the country. They say these people do not see the need to own a car and do not want to use or rent family members vehicles so they choose to hire or rent a car.

This does not necessarily mean Harare car sales are falling or going over the roof, it just shows us that people have different preferences and choices when it comes to car renting and travelling in and around Zimbabwe.

Most Zimbabwe car hire firms are based in Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls.

These are the busiest places in terms of international travel and visits. They are also the only places where one will see an airport linking the country to international destinations.

However, six other Zanu-PF members were injured when a Ford Ranger they were travelling in plunged into a river at Gampinya Bridge in Tsheli area, Nkayi on Saturday.

Chief Insp Makonese said 15 people were in the vehicle.

The accident occurred at the 30KM peg along the Gwelutshena- Gokwe road at around 7PM on Saturday.

The injured were rushed to Nkayi District Hospital but later transferred to Silobela District Hospital in the Midlands province.

The party members were coming from a party meeting in Gwelutshena.

Nkayi District Administrator Mrs Matildah Mlotshwa said upon approaching the narrow bridge, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it fell into the river.

She said all the passengers were Zanu-PF members who were coming from a party meeting.

“We warn members of the public to exercise caution especially when driving at night and avoid overloading as they risk lives,” she said.
