No media repression in Zim, newspapers attack gvt every day but nothing happen to them, Mangwana

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana says there is no media repression in Zimbabwe.

In his message marking World Press Freedom Day, Mangwana said a number of publications attack the government every day, but nothing was done to them.

“There is no media repression or censorship in Zimbabwe.

“Some publications attack Government on a daily basis and nothing has ever been done to them,” he said.

Apparently, Zimbabwe is known for chocking the media space, as a way to curb opposing views.

With more than 40 years after independence the airwaves remains constricted.
