No Christmas for FC Platinum Football Club

WHILE others are enjoying their festive season holidays, there is no Christmas for FC Platinum who left Harare on Wednesday for Cairo, Egypt ahead of their epic CAF Champions League tie against giants Al Ahly on Saturday.
The Platinum Miners, are aware of the litmus test which lies ahead and are not dwelling on their 3-0 loss to Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia at Barbourfields two weeks ago.

“We are happy that we won the domestic league but now we have since shifted focus to the African Champions League. We are not reading much into the losses in our first two games we are going there to win,” says FC Platinum Striker Mkhokheli Dube

“Playing in these championships is not easy and especially coming from the two losses we now know what we need to do, we have been working so hard so that we grind a better result in Cairo,” said defender Kelvin Madzongwe.
FC Platinum coach Lizwe Sweswe says they are hoping to ride on the Premier Soccer League glory to get a positive result against the African football powerhouse.

“We have been under a lot of pressure and the domestic league has also been on our shoulders. Now that the league is over, we tried to manage the pressure and have been working flat out to ensure we match the African giants,” said Sweswe

FC Platinum who lost their first two group encounters against Al Hilal and Etoile du Sahel will be hoping to turn their fortunes when they meet Al Ahly in this Saturday’s match.
The platinum miners are expected to arrive in Cairo in the early hours of Thursday.
