Reports filtering through are that a newly born baby has just been discovered alive in a street bin near Bush house along Cameron street between Bank and Robert Mugabe.
According to witnesses on the ground, the baby is still there and police are yet to attend to the scene.
Meanwhile, the issue of baby dumping is rampant in the country.
In most cases, women and girls attribute baby dumping to men who refuse to take responsibility after impregnating them.
Police say the upsurge of cases of baby dumping, birth concealment, termination of pregnancy and other cases involving newly born babies, is very disturbing.
Baby dumping is an offence in Zimbabwe which attract a heavy punishment.
