New Bulawayo City Councillors sworn in

Bulawayo City Council Mayor Solomon Mguni has sworn in new councillors following the just ended by-elections.

The councillors sworn in are Ndlovu Edwin for ward 8, Donaldson Mabutho for ward 9, Lilian Mlilo for ward 12, Concillia Mlalazi for ward 18, Christopher Dube for ward 19, Earnest Rafamoyo ward 20, Tinevimbo Maposa ward 21 and Mpumelelo Moyo of ward 26.

In welcoming the 8 councillors, mayor Mguni said this is the first time in years the Council has multi party Councillors.

He urged the newly elected councillors and those returning to serve the residents of Bulawayo and work together for the common good.

The elections came as a result of the recalling of MPs and councillors by the Douglas Mwonzora led MDC-T faction.

Meanwhile, the just ended polls saw the newly formed Citizens Coalition for Change led by Nelson Chamisa making a mark.
